In September 1935, Doric Lodge Acquired Doric Hall on Chandler's Hill Road (visitors entrance) and Damgate Street (Front facade) Wymondham as its base for meetings.

In 2021 it was decided to setup a dedicated management team to oversee the safe and productive utilisation of the building for the greater good of the community. Accordingly, while owned by Doric Lodge, the building is now independently managed by a volunteer management committee who enable other groups and organisations to exploit the facilities of the Hall.

History of the site:

Former Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, Wymondham, Norfolk

In Damgate Street. Opened on 28 Nov 1879, when the Norfolk News reported "The building, which is of rather plain exterior, is capable of seating 300 persons. The pews are of pitch pine, varnished; and a rostrum platform has been erected in the place of the antiquated pulpit. A gallery has been constructed at the end for the singers and children." The cost was £960 of which £650 had been raised at the time of opening. Following Methodist union in 1932, the building was apparently disposed of in favour of the former Primitive Methodist premises at Town Green, and is now used by the local Freemasons.

This Community Hall was built in 1879 of red brick with gault brick dressings and a slate roof. It is a two-storey building with a three-bay façade. This building was originally a Wesleyan Methodist Chapel. July 1972. Listed, Grade II.
